Ok so everyone’s asking what’s going on with the film...well...we finished a 116 minute edit of the film before the New Year...I edited at fva which had to move facilities in the fall so we got in there after they moved to their new facilities on 21st street...then I had to close the production office...and since then I’ve played the film for a few people and have interested a sales agent. The next goal is to get the film down to a 90 minute version.  I’ve started to submit to film festivals.  My first big promotion was going to Cannes and registering the film company in the marche du film.  I met with lots of distributors and film bigwigs (even had a chance encounter with Roger Ebert) and told them to keep a heads up for Creating Karma.  We’re looking at possibly screening at the afm in November or doing a solid year of promoting and then bringing it to screen at Cannes next spring.  So how was Cannes?  Awesome and flippy.  Christine Giorgio, our post supervisor who also helped edit, joined me for four days...we had a great time, met lots of filmmakers from all over the world and got to check out the Riviera.  We even spent a day in Monaco as they were preparing for the Grand Prix and passed a celebrity driver but I didn’t get my camera out in time...I did get a shot of the Playboy bunnies getting ready for a press conference at the American Pavilion for Hugh Hefner’s 80th birthday but Hef went by me so fast I missed him (see photo).  There’s a lot of cheese in France!  Anyway, I’m glad to be back and am reunited with the Johnny Black band.  Tonight we did a gig at CBGB’s on the same bill with Tommy Ramone who did a bluegrass set on the mandolin.  Things never change when you’re away directing a film...they just get hipper.   Now that you’re all caught up...THIS IS YOUR PAGE!  LET THE VERBAL ABUSE (OH SORRY, POETRY) BEGIN!
